Selected from numerous projects including car parks, bridges, marine structures, industrial buildings etc..
Whiteadder Road Bridge, Berwick, UK
With difficult access to the substructure, a long term, low maintenance repair solution has been implemented. Duoguard 500 was applied to the contaminated piers and abutments to counter the effects of the remaining chloride salts. In addition to the main structure, specific areas of the underside of the bridge deck which had been contaminated with significant levels of chloride contaminated water run off were treated. This targeted approach offers a very cost effective solution to corrosion control on reinforced concrete structures. In addition a fully remote monitoring system, with MN15 Reference probes, was installed allowing the client to remotely access the effectiveness of the corrosion prevention system.

Laverock Hall Bridge, Cramlington, UK
Laverock Hall Bridge was suffering typical corrosion problems associated with leaking bridge deck joints, exhibiting significant concrete spalling as a result of chloride induced steel reinforced corrosion. Deterioration of the beams was visible due to the corrosion activity and technical analysis showed chloride levels in the concrete were likely to lead to further corrosion problems. 1500 Duoguard 500 units were applied to targeted areas on the structure, identified through chloride/steel potential measurments.
As the Duoguard 500 installation does not require extensive connections to permanent power supplies, it was possible to stage the installation to meet the contractor, Carillion, requirements to maintain traffic flow.

Eastgate MSCP, UK
CPT were commissioned in 2005 to provide a remote monitoring system to monitor the on-going condition of Eastgate MSCP. It became apparent in 2007 that in certain locations of the structure corrosion had initiated. As part of a planned refurbishment in 2008 the deck coating was removed allowing CPT to test the parking decks and identify areas of steel corrosion activity. These areas were treated with 480 Duoguard 500 units targeted to specific areas where corrosion activity had been identified offering a cost effective solution for the client. In order to monitor the newly refurbished car park, further MN15 Reference Electrodes were buried in the structure and connected to the remote monitoring system. Currently the site is being permanently monitoring by both CPT and client.
Spindles MSCP, Oldham, UK
This car park was suffering typical chloride induced corrosion damage in
running aisles and parking bays.
A targeted concrete repair solution was utilised. Smaller spalls were broken
out and Rebaguard anodes installed prior to reinstatement in order to
prevent ‘incipient anode’ corrosion. Larger areas of debonded/spalled
concrete were treated with the Duoguard corrosion prevention system, placed
around the periphery of the repair. In both cases the daytime operation of
the car park was maintained with minimal disruption.
The bridge deck joints of Whiteadder Roadbridge in
Berwick, UK had been leaking for some time depositing chloride contaminated
rain water onto the large piers and abutments supporting the structure. On
inspection substantial areas of loose concrete were evident along with salt
deposits in certain areas.
Norhtumberland County Council were keen to have a low maintenance, low cost solution to their steel reinforcement corrosion problems. Duoguard 500 was therefore applied to the beams and abutments which were significantly chloride contaminated.
Eastgate MSCP had been exposed to de-icing salts for a
number of years. Lower decks were found to be corroding in locations
associated with day joints, cracks and low cover concrete.

Several decks of this MSCP were exhibiting spalling of the concrete cover as
a result of chloride salt attack on the reinforcing steel. The spalls were
breaking through the deck coating resulting in a serious trip hazard to
customers.
